  Cougar in Woodstock
Posted by bill on Saturday, February 06 @ 22:24:00 EST (152 reads) (comments? | Score: 1)
Headline News Anonymous writes "I was traveling on Rt197 South about 2 Miles north of Chamberlain Campground.  In a field on the right I saw a large, 85 - 100 lb animal sitting up straight looking into the woods behind it.  Iwas about 15 yards away.  It was tan in color, short fir, with distinctive cat ears, which were a little darker in color.  My first impression is that it looked like a giant cat.  When I looked up this web-site, I was convinced I saw a cougar.  I'm kicking myself for not taking a picture with my cell-phone.  Next time I will remember.

Headline News Anonymous writes "last year an avid hunter co-worker claimed to spot a mountain lion outside our office building on rt.1 danvers, adjacent to the old Danvers State Mental hospital. We all thought he was nuts.  Last week,Nov 17th, 2009, both myself and another co-worker also spotted what we think was a mountain lion. Called animal control... i think they feel we're nuts, but I know what i saw  and it looked like this.

Saw Cougar in Southbury Ct on 9/25/09
Posted by bill on Tuesday, October 06 @ 22:19:59 EDT (124 reads) (comments? | Score: 1.5)
Headline News Anonymous writes "My dog has been excited lately and sniffing hard at some places in yard. This afternoon around 3:30 I saw a cougar passing from the area of the koi pond across my yard border (about 150 feet) into the woods. My house is near a state park and area is heavily wooded. I checked photos on the internet and this is definitely a cougar (size, color, etc.). He appeared to be at least 40 pounds or triple the size of a housecat. What a long tail!

As a nature lover I am thrilled but as the owner of a small dog (17 pounds), I am a bit scared. Does anyone know if the cougar would attack my dog?"

  Cougars in Mt Greylock area

Headline News Anonymous writes "Returning from work one day, I saw a mountain lion..about 6 ft. long, tawny colored, and with NO TAIL!  When I brought up that fact to a local biologist at the Berkshire museum, she told me that there have been quite a few sitings of that animal....definitely not a bobcat.  It seems to have somehow lost its tail.  She also told me that some cubs were sited at a nearby bar/restaurant in Lanesborough MA...My siting occured in 2007, but my neighbor had seen it a couple of times before then...Ken Mello(retired Science teacher)"

  Cougar Sighting Harrisville, NH
Posted by bill on Wednesday, August 26 @ 10:42:59 EDT (647 reads) (Read More... | Score: 0)
Headline News Anonymous writes "I saw a large cat cross directly in front of my car this morning while driving on Route 9 in Harrisville, NH.  It appeared to weigh 90 lbs and was very muscular.  It was missing most of its tail.  Fur was light brown.  I had previously seen a mountain lion in the wild in Wyoming and there is no question the cat I saw today was indeed a mountain lion.  Very cool."

  We saw a big cat
Posted by bill on Saturday, August 22 @ 23:51:54 EDT (87 reads) (comments? | Score: 0)
Headline News Anonymous writes "My Son and I were just on our way home from Hopewell Junction, NY and saw a large cat run across South Greenhaven Road. It was about 3 feet long with a bobbed tail and short ears pointed back. It looked just like a cougar but without a long tail. I was very surprised. I thought I saw a large cat a couple times since I've been living on the hill here, but I was never 100% sure. I got a good long look at this one and thought, "I would be quite scared if I saw that in our yard".

  Couagarsighting in Plainville, CT
Posted by bill on Wednesday, August 05 @ 21:32:35 EDT (747 reads) (Read More... | Score: 0)
Headline News Anonymous writes "At 3:15 PM today, I saw a cougar in my neighbor's yard. It had a long rope like tail about as long as its body. It was tan in color. It moved like a cat and had large hind quarters. As it stopped, the back of the animal would hunch straight up. I approximate its weight between 55-75 lbs. It was definitely not a bobcat or coyote, we have sighted these on numerous occasions."

Headline News Anonymous writes "My girlfriend who lives in Colchester was heading to Manchester on Rt. 2 on 8/3/09 in the early morning.  She said she saw a large cougar lying dead on Rt. 2 and lots of traffic was slowing to look at the animal.  She said it's tail was as long as she was (she's a little over 5').  Did anyone else see the cat?
